Thank you for investing in a Nikon digital camera. Please read the following last minute important information.
1. Panorama
In order to use the ╥Panorama╙ function found in the ╥Tools╙ menu, Panorama Maker software must be installed. Panorama Maker is bundled with PictureProject, and should be installed when the ╥Easy Install╙ is run.
2. Coolpix RAW files
Raw files that are created by a Coolpix camera will take up to 60 seconds to be displayed on the slideshow of PictureProject.
3. Print zoom function
Regardless of the ╥Zoom %╙ setting in the printer driver dialog box, this version of PictureProject will always print at 100%.
4. Nikon Capture Camera Control
In order to use the ╥Nikon Capture Camera Control╙ function found in the ╥Tools╙ menu, Nikon Capture software must be installed. Nikon Capture is an optional software product from Nikon.
5. Import Assistant (Macintosh OS X, 10.3)
The ╥Import Assistant╙ scans, locates and imports all photos under a specific target folder of your file system. By default, the target folder is the ╥Pictures╙ folder. You can change the target folder to any folder other than ╥Pictures╙, but you must turn ╥FileVault╙ security ╥Off╙. The ╥FileVault╙ function is an OS function and it can be found in the ╥Security╙ settings in the OS X (10.3) System Preferences. ╥FileVault╙ is off by default.
6. Photoshop NEF Plug-in
a) A RAW NEF file that is cropped (with Nikon Capture Editor) to less than 64 pixels in width cannot be opened using the Photoshop NEF Plug-in. Re-open the image using Nikon Capture and make it larger to use the Photoshop Plug-in.
b) Nikon Photoshop NEF plug-in displays the ╥RAW adjustments╙ dialog box when it opens RAW NEF files in general. However, once images are edited and saved by Nikon Capture, the ╥RAW adjustments╙ dialog box will be skipped and the settings saved by Nikon Capture will be used.
c) When opening a raw image file that is taken by a D1 camera, the "Sharpening" setting is always set to "None" even when custom setting #23 (Sharpening) is set to "Normal" (Default), "High" or "Low". When using the D1X/D1H, it always follows the custom setting you have selected.
